Mount Meru Waterfall is a must place to visit while in Arusha town. The waterfall is located in Gilgilai Village just three hours walk and a half an hour drive. When at the waterfall gate you must use a half an hour walk through the river endowed with vegetation cover of indigenous plant species.
The biggest Mahogan tree of about 300-400 years old is found just at the beginning of the trail down to the river. Other medicinal plants of different kinds are also found in this forest. The waterfall is long about 50-50 miters height, real nice to stand beside it while looking at flowing water with amazing sounds.
Reaching the waterfall itself is a real adventure as you walk through rocks placed naturally on the river as well as tree branches just placed to support your walk.
